Short explanation

Thelia 2.6.1 contains an absolute path traversal vulnerability in its Smarty template handling, enabling server-side template injection and remote code execution when an authorized user supplies an arbitrary filesystem path.

Why does it matter?

This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary code with web server privileges, compromising overall system security.

What should be done?

  • Follow vendor advisories and updates
  • Strictly validate template handling inputs
  • Review deployment configurations
Chain of evidence and sources2 verified claims

Thelia 2.6.1, Smarty şablon işlemesinde mutlak dizin geçişi zafiyeti barındırmaktadır.

Zafiyet, sunucu tarafında şablon enjeksiyonuna ve uzaktan kod yürütülmesine imkan tanımaktadır.

Show the technical text from the sources

Thelia 2.6.1 contains an absolute path traversal vulnerability in its Smarty template handling that enables SSTI and remote code execution. The `checkTemplate()` validation restricts relative directory traversal sequences such as `../` but does not reject absolute paths, allowing an authorized user to supply an arbitrary filesystem path as a template. Smarty then loads and compiles the referenced file without an effective security policy, so depending on filesystem layout and deployment configuration, template code in the file can be executed with the web server's privileges.

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
