Short explanation
JeecgBoot through version 3.9.5 contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the saveDeptRolePermission endpoint of SysDepartPermissionController. This flaw allows authenticated low-privileged users to modify department role permissions and escalate privileges.
Authenticated low-privileged attackers can assign arbitrary menu or button permissions to achieve privilege escalation or revoke permissions from other users.
What should be done?
- Follow vendor advisories as patch status is currently unknown
- Restrict access to the affected endpoint
- Monitor logs for suspicious role and permission modifications
