Short explanation

CVE-2026-109832 in the gnome-remote-desktop component shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux causes a remote denial of service due to retryable GnuTLS results being handled with an unbounded busy loop in VNC TLS I/O handlers.

Why does it matter?

A remote attacker who can reach an enabled VNC TLS listener can cause the event-loop thread to spin at high CPU with no forward progress, resulting in a denial of service.

What should be done?

  • Follow official vendor advisories
  • Check for available updates and patch status

CVE-2026-109832, Red Hat Enterprise Linux içinde sunulan gnome-remote-desktop bileşenini etkiler.

Yeniden denenebilir GnuTLS sonuçlarının sınırsız meşgul döngü ile işlenmesi hizmet engellemeye yol açar.

Show the technical text from the sources

A flaw was found in gnome-remote-desktop as shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. In the VNC TLS I/O handlers, retryable GnuTLS results (GNUTLS_E_AGAIN and GNUTLS_E_INTERRUPTED) are handled with an unbounded busy loop instead of yielding to the event loop. A remote attacker who can reach an enabled VNC TLS listener can cause the event-loop thread to spin at high CPU with no forward progress, resulting in denial of service.

Patch and Remediation Guide

Solution & Remediation Advisory

Patch status unknown

İncelenen resmî kaynaklarda yama durumu doğrulanamadı. Bu sonuç “yama yok” anlamına gelmez.

Confirm the affected product and version against the source evidence above.
Restrict access to internet-facing services and apply network segmentation.
Until a patch is confirmed, follow the vendor advisory; do not read an unknown status as “no patch”.
Monitor server logs and network endpoints for signs of anomalous execution.
