Short explanation
Admidio versions prior to 5.0.10 lack CSRF protection in the PKCS#12 key export feature, allowing forged POST requests to trigger private key export. The vulnerability is medium severity with a CVSS score of 4.3. A patch exists in version 5.0.10, but patch status is UNKNOWN due to lack of authoritative confirmation.
Private key exposure compromises cryptographic integrity and enables man-in-the-middle attacks. This vulnerability affects systems relying on Admidio for user authentication and key management.
What should be done?
- Upgrade to version 5.0.10 or later
- Verify patch status through official vendor advisories
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.
Chain of evidence and sources
Show the technical text from the sources
Admidio is an open-source user management solution. Prior to version 5.0.10, the sensitive `mode=export` action in `modules/sso/keys.php` exports a PKCS#12 bundle containing the configured private key and certificate, but the CSRF validation line is commented out. A forged cross-site POST from an administrator session can therefore trigger private key export without a valid form token. Version 5.0.10 contains a fix.
