Short explanation
CVE-2026-82078 is a critical vulnerability in PaperCut MF/NG allowing arbitrary Java bytecode execution via unsafe dynamic class loading. It is actively exploited and no official patch status is confirmed. Remediation requires vendor patch application and strict configuration controls.
This vulnerability enables remote code execution with server-level privileges, posing a high risk to enterprise environments. Its presence in the KEV catalog confirms active exploitation, requiring immediate mitigation.
What should be done?
- Apply vendor patch if available (version 24.1.10, 25.0.13, or 26.0.5).
- Ensure configuration parameters are restricted to approved driver names.
- Monitor for signs of exploitation via logs and network traffic.
The sources give limited detail on some technical conditions. Review the chain of evidence below before deciding how to act.
Chain of evidence and sources

Show the technical text from the sources
An unsafe dynamic class loading vulnerability exists in the database connection utilities of PaperCut MF and PaperCut NG. The application instantiates database driver classes based on configurable driver names without validating against an allowlist of approved drivers. If an attacker can manipulate system configuration parameters, this enables the execution of arbitrary Java bytecode residing on the application classpath under the security context of the PaperCut server process.
