Short explanation

A memory buffer overflow vulnerability affects the service processor mailbox interface in IBM Power Systems Firmware (S0). An attacker with authenticated service-level access to the FSP can send specially crafted mailbox messages to read or modify arbitrary Hostboot memory regions (S0). This can compromise the host firmware boot stack and the loaded hypervisor (S0).

Why does it matter?

Successful exploitation results in confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts to the managed system (S0).

What should be done?
